During the 21st Sarajevo Film Festival we focus on professional development of regional film professionals and opportunities for their UK film counterparts to make meaningful connections in the region.
In 2015, we continue creating new opportunities for aspiring filmmakers by hosting training and mentorship sessions with experts and professionals from the UK at Talents Sarajevo.
We present best of the UK film to audiences screening BAFTA Shorts nominees programme.
Regional Forum (19 - 21 August) is the Festival's major annual conference on current issues for the film industry in Southeast Europe. It brings together over 100 key professionals from 15 regional countries, from both the private and public sector, to discuss the burning issues in the industry, advocate for and shape up public policies, and network with each other.
Talents Sarajevo (15-20 August) has become the regional hub for meeting and training of aspiring film professionals. It will welcome 70 up-and-coming actors, directors, DoPs, film critics, producers and screenwriters from 17 countries in Southeast Europe. We have up to four UK professionals with sessions during the programme with ‘Wonder Matters” as an underlying theme: - Simon Perry - Olivia Hetreed, Scriptwriter - Selina Ukwuoma, script editor, consultant and tutor - Steve Mathews - Antony Root, Executive Vice President, Original Programming and Production at HBO Europe
Švenk (Secondary School Film Festival) is a festival we launched in 2014 in collaboration with Secondary Fine Arts School in Sarajevo and SFF to create a platform for the youth to develop and showcase their skills. Winning film was invited for the official selection of youth films at SFF. Two winners are invited to join Festival with Industry access.
