Focusing on art and culture as the highest forms of global communication, British Council with the assistance of the European Union presents four projects under the umbrella name Connecting Creatively. Through the art of film, dance and theatre, exhibitions dedicated to global cultural history, educational activities and international cooperation, the programme aimed to mark the centenary of the beginning of WWI by promoting the ideas of integration in the Western Balkans and common European future.
The programme integrated art and culture with education to create catalysis for further network and capacity development based on the promotion of exchange and trust in the Western Balkans. Strong emphasis was given to international cooperation in order to create sustainable relations and collaborations between partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina and abroad.
The programme of activities connected the whole community of theatres, museums, cinemas and classrooms, aiming to transform this collective work to sustainable effects beyond 2014. Connecting Creatively was implemented by the British Council in cooperation with local partners and supported by the European Union. The project was part of the “Sarajevo, Heart of Europe” foundation.
